The Oil and Gas Division is responsible for developing and creating a positive climate for the economic, environmental, and socially responsible development of BC’s natural gas and petroleum resources for the benefit of all British Columbians.
The Project Manager is responsible for managing the planning and implementation of policies and programs for a high-profile project in the petroleum and natural gas upstream sector. The Project Manager is responsible for managing a project’s scope, budget, and schedule. At the same time, this position will forge strong relationships and work with other ministries, First Nations, and industry to find the balance between economic development, fair return, and environmental integrity necessary to support the development of strategic project plans within the natural resource program area.

Job Requirements:
In order to be considered for this position, your application must clearly demonstrate how you meet the education and experience as outlined below:
Degree, diploma, or equivalent in the natural resource field or an equivalent combination of education/training plus, 5 or more years’ experience working in a natural resource discipline.
Formal Training in project management or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Minimum 4 years of experience managing multiple projects or leading a component (e.g., sub-project) of a major project or regional initiative.
Experience in managing project teams.
Experience managing relationships with senior level stakeholders.
